Man in Custody for Stealing 23 Cows in Gombe

In Golombi village, Shongom Local Government Area of Gombe State, the Police Command apprehended a man for theft of 23 cows.

The suspect, 23-year-old Adamu Maikudi from Mai Rana village in Billiri Local Government Area, was presented by the police alongside two accomplices.

During the parade, the Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mahid Abubakar, disclosed that the suspect sold the 23 cows owned by Anchau Maishanu. He mentioned that the other two suspects involved in the crime were currently on the run.

Abubakar stated, “Maishanu lodged a report at Pero Chonge Divisional Police headquarters alleging that three suspects, including Maikudi, collaborated to steal his 23 cows from Golombi village and subsequently sold them.”

“Following the report, an investigation was carried out leading to the arrest of Maikudi and the recovery of all the stolen items.”

In addition to the cattle theft case, Abubakar also showcased suspects involved in kidnapping, conspiracy, and possession of firearms. Among them were 25-year-old Hassan Danladi, 42-year-old Seth Adamu, and 22-year-old Eli Bulus, apprehended based on credible intelligence.

“Danladi was found in possession of illegal arms including a dane gun, bow and arrows, charms, and armlets. Upon initial interrogation, the suspect admitted to obtaining the firearms unlawfully from Adamu and Bulus, residents of Kaltungo Local Government Area. The investigation is ongoing,” Abubakar elaborated.

Also paraded by Abubakar were 25-year-old Buba Wakili and 20-year-old Babangida Ahmadu. Their arrest followed a report by Buba Tukur concerning threats demanding N1 million to avoid abduction. Abubakar stated, “Upon thorough investigation, the two suspects confessed to conspiring to carry out the criminal act.”
