An arrest has been made by the Ogun State Police Command, where a 24-year-old man, Gadafi Bala, is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Ogijo, within the Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
On Friday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, made this revelation in an official statement.
According to Odutola, the incident involving Bala occurred on Thursday.
A portion of the statement stated, “A report was received from Ifesowapo Otitoloju CDA in Ilara, Ogijo, indicating that a 14-year-old female JSS1 student of Aderegun Community High School, Ogijo, was sexually assaulted by Gadafi Bala, a 24-year-old male, on March 28, 2024.”
Upon reception of the report, the Ogijo Divisional Police Officer promptly visited the victim, arranged for a medical evaluation, which later confirmed the assault.
Following the doctor’s verification at a government hospital, Gadafi was swiftly taken into custody.
“A preliminary inquiry has been initiated, and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for thorough investigation,” added Odutola.
