Rahimat Salaum, a resident of Pegi in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is accused of killing her spouse, as per reports.
Confirmation of the incident was made by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, on Tuesday.
Authorities from the Pegi Police Division apprehended the woman on Monday, July 29, 2024, while she was attempting to flee with her late husband’s possessions.
The suspect, after being taken into custody, confessed during police questioning to ending her husband’s life due to a disagreement.
Subsequent to her confession, she directed law enforcement personnel to an unfinished structure where she had concealed the charred remains of her husband.
While investigations are ongoing, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, assured the public that justice would prevail in the case and encouraged residents to report any suspicious behavior to the authorities.
