Man Arrested for Abducting Four-Month-Old Baby in Ondo State

Nsem Godwin, shown in the photo above, was apprehended by the Ondo State police command for allegedly kidnapping a four-month-old baby in Okitipupa town, Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

Confirming the arrest to journalists, CSP Femi Joseph, the spokesperson for the state police command, stated that the suspect was captured by the Highway Saver Policemen of the command as he tried to flee with the baby.

Joseph revealed that the suspect had somehow gained access to the residence where the baby lived with his parents. The baby was playing in the compound with his older brother when the abductor took him. The suspect’s actions were noticed by some residents of the community who confronted him about how he obtained the baby. Unable to provide a coherent response, he resorted to feigning mental instability.

Reportedly, the community elders prevented enraged residents from taking the law into their own hands and attacking the suspect. Instead, they handed him over to the police immediately.
