Leon Balogun Hopes for Contract Extension with Rangers

Showing optimism, Rangers’ defender Leon Balogun is looking forward to a potential contract extension with the Scottish Premiership club.

Initially joining the Light Blues on a one-year deal last summer after his release from Sky Bet Championship side Queens Park Rangers, the Nigerian has been a valuable addition to the team.

Balogun recently made his first start for Rangers since February in the Scottish Cup semi-final win against Heart last Sunday, receiving praise from manager Philippe Clement for his standout performance.

Approaching the end of his current contract in June, the 35-year-old center-back expresses his desire to stay at Ibrox.

When asked about his future, Balogun commented to the Daily Record, “I hope so. Have there been talks about my future? Not yet. I don’t know what will happen. I think those decisions will be made within the club within the next few weeks. I hope I get a notification a bit more timely than the last time around! I would like to think I can be quite positive, touching on the manager choosing me on Sunday, but I can’t really tell you, I don’t know yet.”

Throughout the season, Balogun has featured in 16 matches across all competitions for the Light Blues.
