Legal Action Initiated by Deposed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi

A legal action has been taken by deposed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, against the Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, and the Department of State Security (DSS), concerning his detention following his dethronement in Awe community, Nasarawa state.

 

Sanusi, represented by his legal team led by Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has filed the lawsuit under the reference FHC/ABJ/CS/357/2020 before the Federal High Court in Abuja today on March 12th.

 

Following his dethronement by Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Monday, March 9th, the former monarch was relocated to Nasarawa state, where he is currently in “exile.”
