The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ogun State has made an arrest of 48 suspected internet fraudsters in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The suspects, aged between 18 and 28, claimed to be undergraduates.
The arrests took place in an early morning raid on March 12, and the suspects were identified as Anwinilomo Tomisin, Ayeni Ifedapo, Melojuekun Oluwatobi, and others. They will soon be arraigned in court after the recovery of items such as exotic cars, mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards from them.
The EFCC has yet to release further details on the incident.
