Landlord assault leads to tenant’s remand by the court

Following a case of assault on his landlord, a tenant named Chris Okoye, aged 44, has been ordered to be remanded by the Kabusa Grade I Area Court in Abuja.

After hearing the plea of the defendant, Judge Malam Abubakar Sadiq issued the order. The accused, residing at 2A Niger Avenue villa nova, Apo, is facing charges of criminal conspiracy, intimidation, force, assault, and causing hurt, to which he pleaded not guilty.

According to the prosecutor, O.S. Osho, the landlord, Mr. Ochengele Isaac, reported the incident at the Apo Police Station on Jan. 3, alleging that the defendant, along with his two children and another person named Gideon (who is currently at large), physically assaulted him and caused injuries.

The two children of the defendant and the mentioned Gideon are currently evading apprehension. The case has been adjourned until Jan. 16 for further hearing.
