Kenyan Pastor investigated in UK for selling oil he claims can protect his members from Coronavirus

The UK is currently investigating Kenyan Pastor Climate Irungu Wiseman for purportedly selling an oil that he claimed could protect his members from the dreaded Coronavirus. The Pastor, who is the founder of Bishop Climate Ministries in Camberwell District, South London, sold the oil for £91 (N40,950) each, along with red yarn, which he marketed as “plague protection” kits.

Bishop Climate’s post on March 21 stated that he was “instructed” by the Lord to create an oil “mixed with cedar wood, hyssop, and prayer” for the pandemic. He also mentioned that his product had worked in the past and would work again.

The Charities Regulator has launched an urgent probe into the church’s sale of the oil. Moreover, the Southwark Council confirmed that the church is being investigated, and Councillor Victoria Mills stated that it is wrong for anyone to exploit people’s fears during this time of high anxiety.

The Kenyan Pastor has defended himself, claiming that he sold 1,000 of the kits to cover the cost of ingredients, packaging, and postage, and questioned what is wrong about putting into practice what the Bible says.
