Juventus required to pay Ronaldo €10million

Cristiano Ronaldo, the former striker of Juventus, has been awarded approximately €9.8 million ($10.46m) in unpaid wages by an arbitration court.

Juventus, the Serie A club, stated on Wednesday that they are in the process of reviewing the ruling.

Having moved on to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo had asserted that he was owed around €19.5m ($20.81m) in outstanding wages by Juve, related to a salary reduction that was agreed upon during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, Juventus mentioned, “The arbitration board confirmed the validity of the compensation reduction agreement made by [Ronaldo] for the 2020/21 sporting season.”

The arbitration tribunal has decreed that the Italian club must pay half of the amount demanded by the 39-year-old Ronaldo.

After joining Juventus in August 2018, Ronaldo played a vital role in securing two consecutive Serie A titles, an Italian Cup, and two Super Cups for the club, before departing Italy to return to Manchester United in 2021.
