Justice Reform Summit to be graced by AGF, Ariwoola, and Sanwo-Olu

The upcoming Justice Reform Summit, titled ‘Enhancing the Administration of Justice for Economic Growth, Investment Protection, and Security in Lagos State,’ will be hosted by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, on May 27 and 28, 2024.

This information was disclosed in a statement by Titilayo ShittaBey-Jeje, the Solicitor-General, and Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, on Wednesday.

Sanwo-Olu will serve as the Chief Host for the summit, which is scheduled to take place at the Marriott Hotel in GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

The Chairman for the summit will be the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, with the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), as the special guest of honor, according to ShittaBey-Jeje.

ShittaBey-Jeje noted that the Lagos State Government has been pioneering justice reform through its significant achievements and innovative approaches throughout the years.

The statement mentioned, “However, being the economic hub of Nigeria, there are emerging challenges to confront, prompting the conceptualization of the summit to explore diverse perspectives for the effective and efficient administration of justice to drive economic growth, enhance security, governance, and protect investments in Lagos State and beyond.”

During the unveiling of the Lagos State Office of the National Human Rights Commission at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, the AGF, reiterated the administration’s commitment under President Bola Tinubu to uphold justice and human rights.

Fagbemi emphasized the government’s dedication to promoting and safeguarding the human rights of Nigerians, ensuring an enabling environment for the National Human Rights Commission to effectively protect the rights of all citizens.
