Jigawa State Government emphasizes the importance of IPPMS for civil servants

Addressing concerns raised by the public, the Jigawa state Government emphasizes that the enrollment of the state workforce into the Integrated Personnel Payroll Management System (IPPMS) is not intended for any form of witch-hunting.

In an exclusive interview with NewsNow, Senior Special Assistant, Students Affairs to Jigawa State Governor, Amb. Muhammad Salisu Seeker Dutse, clarified this stance.

The ongoing verification and enrollment of civil servants into the IPPMS, which has sparked public outcry, has been misconstrued by some as an attempt to downsize the state workforce.

Reports suggested that over 7800 unverified civil servants had missed their April salaries as a result of the exercise.

Amb. Salisu assured that the exercise was conducted with positive motives in mind.

Highlighting the benefits, he mentioned the importance of streamlining the system to ensure timely payment of salaries and other entitlements to employees.

He also emphasized that the IPPMS aims to guarantee that every employee receives their entitled rights promptly and efficiently.

Furthermore, he stated, “It will also assist the government in accurately determining the size of its workforce and identifying any ghost workers on the state’s payroll.”
