Dr. Jasper Uche, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State for the 2023 elections, has stepped down from his position within the party.

In a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Umuaku Ward in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, Uche officially announced his resignation.

The letter, shared with NewsNow early Tuesday, was also sent to the PDP Chairman of Umunneochi LGA and the State Chairman of the party.

His statement read, “I am resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) effective immediately. This decision follows thorough deliberation and consultation.”

He expressed gratitude towards the party for providing him with the opportunity to run as the Deputy Governorship Candidate in the upcoming election.

In a separate development, Hon Ikechukwu Nwabekee, a former member of the Abia State House of Assembly representing Osisioma Ngwa North constituency, has also decided to exit the party.

In his letter to the party chairman of Amasaa Ward 5 in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area, Nwabekee stated, “After considerable discussions and personal reflection, I have chosen to resign from the party.”
