Israeli Military Operations Commence in Rafah, Resulting in 12 Fatalities

Commencing on Monday, Israeli forces initiated a military operation within the city of Rafah, situated in the Gaza Strip.

Reports from AP news indicate that Israeli forces have begun striking targets within Rafah.

An estimated 12 individuals have tragically lost their lives during the overnight attack.

This offensive occurred shortly after Hamas announced their acceptance of an Egyptian-Qatari cease-fire proposition.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office conveyed dissatisfaction with the proposal, deeming it to be “far from Israel’s essential demands.”

Nevertheless, Netanyahu stated that negotiators would be dispatched to pursue discussions regarding a cease-fire agreement.

Earlier on Monday, Israel’s War Cabinet made the decision to proceed with a military operation in Rafah.

The Israeli military has confirmed that they are executing “targeted strikes” against Hamas in Rafah, although specifics have not been disclosed.
