Israel Calls for Diplomatic Measures against Iran

On Tuesday, Israel initiated a diplomatic campaign against Iran, urging 32 nations to enforce sanctions on the Revolutionary Guards and their missile program.

Over the weekend, Iran launched a direct assault on Israel, deploying over 300 drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles in retaliation for an April 1 airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

The Israeli military, with assistance from the United States and other allies, claimed to have intercepted 99% of the incoming threats and reported only minor damages, primarily to a military base in the southern region of the country.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz announced the launch of a diplomatic campaign to counter Iran’s actions.

“In response to the missile and UAV attacks, I have initiated a diplomatic campaign against Iran,” stated Foreign Minister Israel Katz on X day.

“This morning, I have sent correspondences to 32 nations and engaged in discussions with numerous foreign ministers and influential personalities worldwide, urging them to impose sanctions on Iran’s missile program and designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist entity.”

Katz did not specify the countries to which he made the requests for sanctions against the Revolutionary Guards, already designated as a terrorist organization by the US and subject to EU sanctions.

Israeli authorities have vowed to respond to Iran’s actions, following the casualties of seven Revolutionary Guards, including two generals, in the consulate strike.

“We must halt Iran’s actions now, before it’s too late,” expressed Katz on Tuesday.
