Importance of Corp Members’ Service Emphasized by Police Affairs Minister

Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, the Minister of Police Affairs, stressed the crucial role of youth corps members in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of citizens.

At a recent event in Abuja, where a report on the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) contribution to enhancing policing in Nigeria was presented, Gaidam acknowledged the dedication of corp members in serving and protecting the country with honor and integrity.

Gaidam, in a statement by Bolaji Kazeem, the Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations in the ministry, highlighted that the NYSC book launch was a significant demonstration of Nigeria’s unity, diversity, and strength.

Encouraging the corp members, he reminded them that their actions, no matter how small, can bring about positive change and impact those around them. He urged them to remain focused, committed, and strive to be the best version of themselves.

Gaidam described the NYSC program as a vital catalyst for national development and urged corp members to take the nation’s call to selfless service seriously.

He emphasized that the future of the country is in the hands of the youth corps members, who play a crucial role in shaping the nation’s destiny and ensuring the success of democratic governance in Nigeria.

Calling on the young members to lead the fight against social vices, electoral malpractices, and political violence, Gaidam underscored the importance of their contribution to safeguarding the country’s democracy.

In a goodwill message, the Director General of NYSC, represented by Mrs. Chika Chris-Moneke, lauded the supportive environment provided for corp members to contribute to policing efforts in the country.

Prior to this, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Police Affairs, praised the dedication, enthusiasm, and bravery of corp members serving in the ministry, commending the directors for mentoring them and enabling them to bring innovation and technology to the system.
