Following their win over Rivers United, Remo Stars have expressed their appreciation for the significant contribution made by forward Franck Mawuena to the team’s success.
In the match against Rivers United in Ikenne on Monday, Mawuena not only scored a goal but also provided an assist in Remo Stars’ 2-1 triumph.
Haruna Hadi managed to equalize for Remo Stars, nullifying Andy Okpe’s initial goal for the visiting team.
Mawuena, who entered the game as a substitute in the second half, netted the deciding goal seven minutes before the final whistle.
Remo Stars’ X account posted a message stating, “After being out for five months due to injury, our amazing Togolese player, Franck Mawuena, came off the bench and changed the game.”
Under the management of Daniel Ogunmodede, the team secured the second spot in the standings, narrowing the gap between them and the league leaders, Rangers, to just one point.
