Imo State Police Apprehend Robbery Suspect and Seize Pistol


Authorities from the Imo State Police Command have successfully captured robbery suspect Ogochukwu Favour and confiscated a locally crafted pistol from his possession.

The apprehension of the suspect took place when the officers from Shell Camp Divisional Headquarters were conducting a routine patrol along Bank Road in Owerri.

In an official statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, it was revealed that the suspect was nabbed during a police operation where officers spotted a group of criminals in the act of robbing a young woman.

ASP Okoye mentioned, “Upon noticing the criminal activity, the officers promptly intervened, resulting in the arrest of the suspect while the others managed to escape. During a search of the suspect, a locally made pistol was discovered in his possession. The authorities are actively pursuing the absconded suspects and the originator of the homemade firearm.”

Moreover, the police representative elaborated that an extensive investigation is currently underway in relation to the suspect, with subsequent legal actions to follow.
