Human Trafficking Victims Rescued by NAPTIP in Kano


51 victims of human trafficking were rescued by the Kano Zonal Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP.

During the handover of the rescued victims by the Kano State Hisbah Board, NAPTIP zonal commander Abdullahi Babale announced the news on Monday in Kano.

Two suspects linked to the trafficking were apprehended by Hisbah operatives. The rescued victims, ranging from 18 to 50 years old, included 49 females and two males.

According to Babale, the victims were rescued on April 21 at Hotoro motor park in Kano metropolis by the State Hisbah Board while they were en route to Cote d’Ivoire to secure visas for travel to Saudi Arabia for labor exploitation.

Of the 51 rescued victims, two were from Niger Republic while the rest hailed from Kano, Katsina, Yobe, and Jigawa states,” he noted.
