Hezbollah operative in south Lebanon killed by Israeli drone

An Israeli drone has reportedly taken out a Hezbollah member in Southern Lebanon, according to a Lebanese security source and the Israeli Army. The operation resulted in the death of Hussein Ali Azkul, a key figure in Hezbollah’s Aerial Defense Unit in the southern region.

The Israeli Army verified that the strike, carried out by their aircraft, successfully targeted and eliminated Azkul, known for his involvement in planning and executing attacks against Israel. His removal is expected to deal a significant blow to Hezbollah’s aerial capabilities.

Additionally, the Israeli Army mentioned that they had also eliminated a member of Hezbollah’s Radwan Forces’ Aerial Unit in a separate operation.

Confirming the casualties, the Iran-backed militia acknowledged the deaths of both fighters. The incident occurred amid ongoing border tensions, which have escalated since the Gaza war began in October, resulting in daily exchanges of fire along the Lebanon-Israel border.
