In an unexpected move, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has assigned himself the role of Commissioner for Lands within the state.
The decision was unveiled during the swearing-in ceremony of 24 newly selected commissioners held at the Government House in Owerri on Tuesday.
Governor Uzodimma justified his self-appointment by mentioning a past scenario involving a commissioner engaging in controversial land transactions towards the conclusion of his first term, aiming to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
