Gov Otti Meets Three Rescued Children, Advises Parents

On May 10, 2024, Governor Alex Otti welcomed the three siblings – Gideon, Divine, and Israel – who were kidnapped in Ama Ime, Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State. The children were rescued in Anambra and Delta states through the efforts of security agencies coordinated by the Abia State government.

During the reunion at his residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, the Governor expressed gratitude to all involved in securing the children’s release. He also issued a stern caution to parents to be vigilant about their children’s safety moving forward.

Otti urged law enforcement officers who participated in the rescue missions to ensure that all individuals responsible for the abduction face justice as a deterrent to others. He assured that the government would provide support for the rescued children.

In his efforts to bolster security and economic growth in Abia, Otti emphasized his consistent engagements with the Nigerian Armed Forces. He asserted that it is the criminals, not him, who will be compelled to flee the state.

Chairman of Ikwuano LGA, Osinachi Nwaka, recounted the three-phase rescue operation, highlighting his personal involvement in leading the initial rescue mission in Ekwulobia, Anambra State.
