Fuel scarcity in Ibadan leads to return of long queues

Returning to Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, are long queues of vehicles including commercial and private cars, motorcycles, and tricycles.

These queues were spotted early in the morning and continue to persist up to the time of this report.

The scarcity of petroleum, or Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), is the reason behind these long queues, according to information gathered by our correspondent.

A tour of various parts of Ibadan by the NewsNow correspondent revealed that most petrol stations have shut their gates.

Areas visited include Sango, Bodija, the University of Ibadan, Agodi-Gate, Iwo Road, and Idi Ape, along with Apete, Awotan, Monatan, Iyana Church, and Agbowo.

Only a limited number of stations are currently open for service.

Reports indicate that the major marketer, NNPCL, is selling at a rate of N580, while other independent marketers in the visited areas are selling between N700 and N800.

As of Monday when this report was filed, long queues still persist only at a few of the stations open for business.
