FRSC’s Move to Enhance Traffic Management in Anambra State

Ensuring a smooth flow of traffic during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State has deployed a total of 1,020 personnel across strategic points in the state.

In a press briefing in Awka on Saturday, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Anambra State, Adeoye Irelewuyi, emphasized the commitment of FRSC to uphold road safety standards.

The deployment consists of both regular and special Marshalls who will be positioned in trouble areas within the state to guarantee a hassle-free Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

Irelewuyi mentioned that this deployment aligns with the directives of FRSC’s Corps Marshall, Shehu Mohammed, to inform the public about the agency’s readiness for such festivities.

Key areas identified for monitoring include the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Old Awka-Onitsha Road, and Upper Iweka.

Additionally, FRSC has stationed personnel in the Aguata axis to manage traffic heading towards Imo and other parts of the South-East region.

According to Irelewuyi, “Our 1,020 personnel, a mix of regular and special Marshalls, are dedicated to ensuring smooth traffic flow and a safe Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Anambra State.”

He highlighted the agency’s prompt response capabilities, availability of tow trucks for obstruction clearance, and stressed the importance of motorists adhering to traffic regulations.

Continuing, “This undertaking mirrors our consistent practice of communicating critical road management issues and operational strategies to promote road safety for all users.

“With robust personnel deployment, logistical support, and anticipated public cooperation, FRSC is confident in a successful Eid celebration and extends best wishes for a safe and peaceful festivity.”
