French President Urges Immediate and Lasting Ceasefire in Gaza

Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, has once again called for an immediate and enduring ceasefire in Gaza.

During a recent phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Macron reiterated this plea.

In a statement issued by the French presidency, Macron expressed solidarity with the people of Israel following the recent attack by Iran on the night of April 13-14.

The French president stood firm against any Israeli military operation in Rafah, in southern Gaza, warning that such actions would worsen the already dire situation in Gaza and escalate risks.

Macron emphasized the urgent need for a significant flow of humanitarian aid through all access points to Gaza and France’s unwavering commitment to the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.

He reiterated his belief that the establishment of a two-state solution is vital for ensuring lasting peace in the Middle East.

On the same day, Macron also engaged in a phone call with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi to discuss the current situation in the Middle East.
