Former Man City Captain, Kompany, Believes Burnley is Capable of Surprising Chelsea

Vincent Kompany, the manager of Burnley, has expressed confidence that his team has the potential to spring a surprise on Chelsea in the upcoming Premier League match on Saturday.

The Clarets’ boss is leading his team, which is currently facing the threat of relegation, to Stamford Bridge following the international break.

During a media interaction ahead of the fixture, Kompany shared his thoughts: “The game against Chelsea holds immense importance for us, almost like a cup final. However, we have already had a similar mindset for quite some time now. Every game, especially against top teams like Chelsea, is crucial in terms of earning points.

“The impact of achieving positive results can be quite remarkable. We faced setbacks in the West Ham game, but considering our current situation, we look to maintain our momentum from the recent victory.

“Even during challenging periods, we have stood firm and held onto our belief. Therefore, after a win, I believe it boosts our morale. Emotionally, we are a stable team that does not get easily affected, I think.

“Regardless of the outcome, I am confident that we can recalibrate and refocus. The focus is primarily on winning at this stage, and the goal remains the same going into this weekend.”
