Arsenal’s performance was exceptional, with a display of effortless swagger, acute temerity, and tactical audacity, proving too much for a lackluster Manchester United team.
The game marked Mikel Arteta’s first win as the manager of Arsenal, as his well-executed game plan led the team to victory against Manchester United.
Arteta’s tactical approach was simple:
1. Disrupt United’s wing-men to prevent potential counter-attacks.

3. Exploit United’s wing back positions with attacks.
…and the plan was executed successfully.
Arsenal made a strong start, with young talent Pepe breaking the deadlock after excellent work from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sead Kolasinac.
Pepe later hit the post after outmaneuvering Luke Shaw, while Sokratis made it two with a close-range goal, securing the lead at halftime.
