Federal Government’s Meticulous Plan for Affordable Housing for Civil Servants

Ensuring access to affordable housing for civil servants remains a top priority for the Federal Government.

The government is steadfast in its commitment to achieve this goal through the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) program overseen by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

During a recent site inspection at Gwagwalada where construction is underway for 116 two-bedroom semi-detached bungalows designated for core civil servants, Dr. Folasade Yemi Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, reiterated the government’s pledge.

Yemi-Esan urged all contractors involved in the project to expedite the provision of essential infrastructure such as electricity, water, and internal road networks within the housing estate. This move is crucial to ensure the habitability of the estate.

The Estate project, entirely financed by the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board in collaboration with Real Estate Developers, is expected to be completed and commissioned by June in conjunction with the 2024 Civil Service Week celebrations.

Alhaji Ibrahim Mairiga, the Executive Secretary of the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board, revealed that two developers have already finalized their constructions and handed them over to the Board.
