FBI arrests 13 Nigerians over $30m cyber fraud

The US’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested 13 Nigerians for their involvement in a $30 million cyber fraud scheme. The suspects were apprehended alongside 11 others as part of a large-scale fraud operation that targeted individuals, businesses, and financial institutions across the country.

According to reports, the arrested individuals have been charged before a federal court in Atlanta. The suspects have been identified as Blessing Oluwatimilehin Ojo, Afeez Olaide Adeniran, Matthan Bolaji Ibidapo, Obinna Nwosu, Benjamin Ibukunoluwa Oye, Christopher Akinwande Awonuga, Ahamefule Aso Odus, Paul Chinonso Anyanwu, Chineda Obilom Nwakadu, Chukwukadibia Ikechukwu Nnadozie, Uchechi Chidimma Odus, John Ifeoluwa Onimole, and Oluwafunmilade Onamuti.

The arrests mark a significant development in efforts to combat cybercrime, particularly in cases involving substantial financial losses.
