Exciting News: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Visit to Nigeria Will Include Meeting with Military Personnel


News has surfaced that in May, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, along with Meghan Markle, will be making a trip to Nigeria, as revealed by the Defence Headquarters.

Director of Defence Information, Brig Gen Tukur Gusau, shared this information over the weekend.

During their time in Nigeria, the royal couple is expected to engage with the military and participate in various cultural activities.

A statement from the Defence Headquarters expressed gratitude for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex accepting the invitation to visit Nigeria.

The statement further detailed, “The visit by the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, in May, 2024, is a source of honor for the Defence Headquarters, DHQ.”

Gen Gusau mentioned that Prince Harry and Meghan are the founders of the Invictus Games, an international event that provides a recovery platform for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel from around the world.

Highlighting the significance of the Invictus games, Gen Gusau mentioned the involvement of 21 nations with over 500 participants, including Nigeria, which secured gold and silver medals in its inaugural participation last year.

He also indicated that Prince Harry’s visit aims to strengthen Nigeria’s presence in the games and explore the possibility of hosting the event in the future.
