Enyimba penalized with a deduction of two points by NFF

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has decided to penalize Enyimba by deducting two points due to the disruption of their match against Doma United.

This deduction came after the NFF disciplinary committee reviewed the outcome of the game between Enyimba and Doma United.

During the match, which was interrupted after 88 minutes with the score tied at 0-0, Enyimba managed to score a goal initially. However, the goal was later disallowed for being offside.

The decision to overturn the goal as offside was made after the referee consulted with Assistant Referee 1, who raised the flag for the offside call.

The NFF criticized the referee for using an unconventional method of seeking assistance from an Outside Broadcasting Van outside the Enyimba International Stadium to make the final decision.

Consequently, the NFF has upheld the match result to be 0-0 from the moment of the controversial goal disallowance.

As a result of this ruling, Enyimba has dropped to the third position in the league standings.

Enyimba, known as the Aba giants, are planning to file an appeal against this decision.
