Recent Arrest in Enugu: One Chance Robbery, Drug Trafficking, and Theft Cases

In Enugu, the local Police Command has made significant arrests involving six suspects linked to a range of criminal activities. These crimes include ‘one chance’ robbery, theft of a motor vehicle battery, a tricycle, and even a church organ keyboard. Additionally, the suspects were apprehended for unlawful possession and trafficking of cocaine.

A statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, provided details of the arrests that took place. The police officers involved in the operation are from different divisions across Enugu State.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made possible through the dedicated efforts of the operatives within the Enugu State Command.

Items recovered from the suspects include two tricycles, a motor vehicle battery, an organ keyboard, wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine, quantities of weeds, and various other pieces of evidence.

One of the incidents involved the apprehension of Edeh Chibuike, a 44-year-old male, by the operatives based in the Independence Layout Police Division. They recovered a yellow Bajaj tricycle during the operation.

“The suspect, along with accomplices who managed to escape, used the tricycle for a robbery where a female victim lost her iPhone and bank ATM Card at Nwakanwa Street, Independence Layout, Enugu,” explained Ndukwe.

The suspects have confessed to the crime, revealing the criminal gang’s involvement in various illegal activities, including one chance robbery.

Furthermore, on April 17, 2024, another arrest was made where Supuruchukwu Udeozor from Power-line near New Artisan, Enugu, was captured with a suspected stolen blue tricycle, Keke with Reg. No. UWN 132 VK and Fleet No. EBS/TRO 1555.
