Efforts to Resolve Boundary Dispute Between Osun and Ekiti Through Peaceful Means

An agreement has been reached by the Osun and Ekiti State governments to pursue peaceful dialogue in settling the ongoing boundary dispute between the two states.

Both parties stress the importance of communication and peaceful negotiations as the most effective way to address boundary disagreements.

The decision was reached on Thursday during a visit by Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, to Osun State.

Welcoming Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye from Ekiti, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke (represented by Deputy Kola Adewusi), thanked the Ekiti government for choosing a peaceful approach to resolve the boundary dispute.

Adeleke urged the experts involved to conduct a fair fact-finding mission on the matter.

During her speech, Ekiti Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, expressed pleasure with the warm reception and stated her goal of engaging in peaceful discussions with her counterpart in Osun to find a lasting resolution to the boundary disputes.

She noted that their efforts have begun to show positive outcomes.

In his address, Osun State’s Surveyor General, Soladoye Abioye, assured that all technical issues would be peacefully resolved through collaborative efforts between the two states.

Wrapping up the event, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Boundary Matters, Bukola Onifade, highlighted the importance of peaceful discussions in resolving boundary disputes.
