Bola Tinubu Awards GCON Honor to Awujale

At a ceremony held at the Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance, located at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, President Bola Tinubu has presented the Grand Commander of the Order of Nigeria (GCON) to the Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.

The monarch was honored with the second-highest national award in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of the nation.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Tinubu, made the presentation at the occasion of the paramount ruler’s 90th birthday celebration.

Furthermore, it was mentioned that the management of Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance, which the royal father had entrusted to the university, will now be overseen by the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.

In his address, the President lauded Awujale as an exceptional royal figure and a champion of Nigerian democracy, highlighting his revered reputation nationwide for his dedication and bravery in the face of challenges to national progress.
