In the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and Keffi, Nasarawa State, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 40 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud.
The suspects, consisting of 38 males and two females, were apprehended at Mpape on Saturday, February 17, 2024. Their arrest was facilitated by credible information indicating their involvement in internet-related offenses.
Following their arrest, authorities recovered two cars, 56 phones, four smart watches, eight power banks and four laptops from the suspects. The EFCC stated that the individuals will be prosecuted once investigations are completed.
The EFCC’s Kaduna Zonal Command conducted the operation and announced the arrests. It is noteworthy that the agency is determined to combat cybercrime and bring perpetrators to justice.
