In Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, 23 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud have been arrested by operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
According to the anti-corruption agency, the suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Thursday, May 2, 2024, based on credible intelligence linking them to online fraudulent activities.
During the operation, law enforcement officials recovered a laptop and multiple mobile phones from the suspects.
Upon the conclusion of investigations, the EFCC stated that the individuals would be brought before the court to face charges.
