EFCC Announces Arrest of 64 Suspected Internet Fraudsters and Recovery of 18 Vehicles


Officials at the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have reported the apprehension of 64 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud. Additionally, 18 vehicles were recovered in Osun as part of the operation.

Providing details on this development, Dele Oyewale, the Head of Media and Publicity at EFCC, issued a statement to the media in Ibadan on Friday.

The arrests took place in Ede on Wednesday after the agency received actionable intelligence regarding suspicious activities in the area.

Among the items confiscated from the suspects were 18 luxury vehicles, 18 laptops, 112 mobile phones, and three Play Station games.

The seized items also included five motorcycles and various incriminating documents, among other pieces of evidence.

Oyewale mentioned that following the conclusion of investigations, the suspects will be prosecuted in a court of law.
