Trade Union Congress Makes Plea to Kogi Government for Easter Wage Award

Amid the Easter celebrations, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) is urging the Kogi State Government to provide wage awards to workers as a means to alleviate the economic challenges faced in the state.

In a statement issued on Friday, Kogi State TUC Chairman, Comrade Ahmed Tijani, extended his Easter wishes to Christians and also acknowledged the ongoing Ramadan fast for Muslims.

Highlighting the importance of addressing the economic strains, Tijani emphasized the necessity for the state government to consider not only distributing rice palliatives but also implementing wage awards for civil servants.

He emphasized the hardships faced by workers due to the prevailing economic conditions.

While expressing the commitment of the workers to support the current administration, Tijani appealed for optimism, assuring continued negotiations with the government for better terms for the workforce.

He reiterated the importance of prayers for governments at all levels, especially considering the challenging economic climate affecting the nation.
