During times of crisis, such as when movement is restricted, access to food becomes a critical need for everyone, especially the vulnerable and underprivileged.
Dufil Prima Foods, the maker of Nigeria’s leading noodles brand Indomie, has demonstrated its commitment to improving lives, particularly amidst the global challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic. The company has donated numerous cartons of Indomie noodles and other food items to various state governments in Nigeria, aiming to alleviate the hardships faced by households during the lockdown.
When presenting 10,000 cartons of Indomie noodles to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju, the Group Public Relations and Event Manager at Dufil Prima Foods, expressed that the donation aimed to support government efforts at all levels during these challenging times.
The donation to the Ogun State government covered distribution in Abeokuta, Ado Odo Ota local government, Ota, and the isolation center in Ikenne. This initiative supplements the previous delivery of one thousand cartons of Indomie and five hundred cartons of power pasta to the River State Government in Port Harcourt.
Ashiwaju emphasized, “We recognize the challenges faced by governments in providing support to households during this difficult time. Therefore, we felt it was essential for our brand to collaborate with the government to ease the burden faced by families due to the coronavirus pandemic. Our aim is to mitigate the impact of the lockdown and provide emergency food solutions for households.”
He added, “Dufil is dedicated to enhancing the lives of every household, even during this trying period caused by the coronavirus. We believe that access to healthy and nutritious meals should not be a concern for any family. This motivates our supply of Indomie noodles and other food items to state governments for distribution based on their models.”
Dufil acknowledges the sacrifices and courage of healthcare workers who are risking their lives to care for infected individuals and help curb the spread of the virus in the country. The company also urges Nigerians to continue adhering to the guidelines provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and Federal and State Health Agencies to help control the spread of the virus.
