Nigerians to face another price surge from DStv and GOtv


It has been declared by Multichoice Nigeria, the proprietors of Nigerian pay television, DStv and GOtv, that there will be an increase in prices for their packages.

A notice was issued to customers on Wednesday, stating that the new prices will be effective from May 1, 2024.

The company, owned by South Africans, attributed the latest price surge to a “rise in the cost of business operations.”

They mentioned, “We are aware of the potential impact this modification might have on you, our esteemed customer. However, the escalation in the cost of business operations has necessitated this tough decision.”

They further added, “Our objective is to continue offering the best entertainment and viewing experience to you. We are dedicated to providing top-notch content and unmatched service.”

Here are the updated prices for DStv packages:

– Premium: N37,000

– Compact Plus: N25,000

– Compact: N15,700

– Confam: N9,300

– Yanga: N5,100

– Padi: N3,600

– HDPVR Access Service: N5,000

– Access Fees: N5,000

– XtraView: N5,000

The revised prices for GOtv packages are as follows:

– Supa+: N15,700

– Supa: N9,600

– Max: N7,200

– Jolli: N4,850

– Jinja: N3,300

– Smallie: N1,575
