Driver killed, 3 JAMB candidates abducted on Kaduna highway

The Kaduna State Police Command has reported the tragic incident of the death of a driver and the abduction of three candidates of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) examination along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway.

The JAMB candidates were taken captive, along with a minor, a one and a half-year-old girl. The students, identified as Yusuf Sani, Ummi Sani, and Umairah Mustapha, were on their way back to Birnin Gwari after taking part in their examination in Kaduna.

ASP Mohammed Jalige, the Kaduna Police Spokesperson, confirmed the distressing occurrence in a statement to Daily Trust, saying, “Yes, they killed the driver of the vehicle and abducted four persons in the car. Three of the victims were teenagers who went to write JAMB and their baby sister.”

The late driver, Ibrahim Dawo, was employed by Hassan Adamu Shekarau, a former member of the House of Representatives.
