Disabilities Commission Receives 50 Laptops Donation from NCC

In a generous gesture, the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) has donated 50 HP computer laptops to the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).

During a courtesy visit to the NCPWD headquarters in Abuja, the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, conveyed the donation through a delegation from the commission.

Represented by Mr. Tijani Munguno, a Deputy Director at the Commission, Maida highlighted that the provision of these ICT equipment stems from NCC’s belief in the importance of empowering Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) with necessary tools.

Emphasizing the significance of digital skills for PWDs to compete effectively in the ICT market, Maida mentioned that the laptops would enhance their communication expertise.

Furthermore, Maida emphasized the role of the equipment in supporting the commission’s objectives and underlined the importance of promoting inclusivity through improved digital communication for PWDs.

He stressed, “In today’s world, access to digital technology is crucial for ensuring quality output and efficiency. These laptops aim to make a significant impact on the disability community.”

Expressing gratitude for the donation and support extended to PWDs, Dr. James Lalu, the Executive Secretary of NCPWD, affirmed his commitment to collaborating with NCC in enhancing digital communication skills and knowledge among PWDs.

Lalu also provided the NCC delegation with National Accessibility Manuals, equipping them with accessibility standard guidelines for their respective offices.
