Demand for Damagum’s Resignation at PDP Secretariat During NEC Meeting

At the party’s secretariat in Abuja, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Reform Vanguard demanded the immediate resignation of the party’s acting National Chairman, Amb. Iliya Damagum.

The protest coincided with the upcoming PDP National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting scheduled for later in the day.

Speculations suggest Damagum could become the party’s next substantive chairman, but some party stakeholders feel the replacement for the former national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, should come from the North Central region.

The group of youths also called for actions against the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for alleged anti-party activities.

During his address, Usman Seidu, the convener of the PDP Reform Vanguard, criticized Damagum and Wike for undermining the party’s unity and effectiveness as an opposition force.

Seidu emphasized the need for Ayu’s replacement from the North Central, stressing the importance of having a dedicated member who aligns with the party’s values and objectives.
