Enhanced Security Measures Implemented by Delta Police at Worship and Relaxation Centers

Ensuring a safe and smooth celebration during the upcoming Easter festivities, Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has affirmed the command’s preparedness with a significant deployment of officers.

In a statement released on Friday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, it was disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has instructed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Commanders of various Tactical Teams to increase their visibility throughout the state. This proactive measure aims to prevent, confront, and deter serious and violent crimes during the Easter holiday period and beyond.

Emphasizing the importance of crime awareness and prevention operations, the statement mentioned, “The CP noted that the police will focus on special crime awareness and prevention operations as well as targeting crimes common over the celebration.”

Furthermore, the public was encouraged to remain vigilant, abide by the law, and actively assist in maintaining security in their surroundings to combat criminal activities during the Easter period.

Additional deployment from the Department of Operations and Tactical teams, including Dragon Patrol, RRS, CP-Decoy, Raiders Squad, Safe Delta, Safer Highway Patrol, Eagle-Net Special Squad, Crack Squad, and the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad, has been organized by the command.

Security personnel will also be stationed at worship centers and resorts to ensure the safety of visitors and worshippers.

CP Olufemi Abaniwonda stressed that the Command is intensifying its crime-fighting efforts not only during Easter but also in the future. All officers will be actively engaged, collaborating closely with other law enforcement agencies to guarantee the welfare and security of the law-abiding residents in the state.
