Delta King Surrenders to Police in Connection with Soldiers’ Killing

Ikolo Clement, who holds the title of King of Ewu kingdom, has turned himself in to authorities. He is one of the individuals who had been listed as wanted by the Nigerian military.

Clement, recently appointed as the traditional ruler of Ewu Kingdom in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, is among the eight suspects sought by the Nigerian Army Defence Headquarters. They are being sought in connection with the killing of 17 soldiers at Okuama Community on March 14.

Another individual on the wanted list is a suspected militant leader named Akevwru Daniel Omotegbono, also known as Amagbein. Soldiers had tracked him to the Igbomoturu community in the Southern-Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, shortly after the incident, but he managed to evade capture.

Also included in the list of wanted persons are the president-general of Ewu, Prof Ekpekpo Arthur, and Reuben Baru, who gained notoriety for a viral video where he explained the reasons behind the soldiers’ killings.

There is speculation that Igoli Ebi, possibly the mother of one of the suspects, is linked to the case. Additionally, Atata Malaw David and Sinclear Oliki are believed to be associated with the Amagbein group.
