Allegations of rape and assault have been made by Daphne Joy, the former girlfriend of American rapper, 50 Cent.
These accusations come in the wake of reports suggesting that 50 Cent was seeking sole custody of their son. This decision followed Joy being implicated in a lawsuit filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones against Sean “Diddy” Combs, where Diddy was accused of sex trafficking and abuse.
In a detailed Instagram post, Joy criticized 50 Cent for his lack of involvement as a father to their son, Sire, and for allegedly raping and physically assaulting her during their relationship.
She expressed her frustration, stating, “We moved to New York so you could have the chance to be a father to your son, yet you only saw him 10 times in the 2 years we lived just 1 mile away from you.
“I am done pretending and shielding our son from a father who hasn’t earned that role,” her post revealed.
“Let’s focus on your heinous acts of raping and abusing me. You no longer have power over me, and I leave you to God’s judgment from now on.
“Your actions have shattered any hope I had left for you as a father and have irreparably broken our family,” she added.
Conversely, 50 Cent swiftly refuted Joy’s allegations through a statement issued by his representative.
He attributed these accusations to her dissatisfaction with his decision to pursue sole custody of their 12-year-old son.
“Daphne Joy’s recent false claims are a direct response to my move to seek sole custody of my son,
“Sire’s safety and well-being are my top priorities, and that is where my focus lies,” the statement clarified.
50 Cent clarified that his decision to seek sole custody was driven by a need to safeguard his son, especially in light of Lil Rod’s lawsuit against Diddy implicating Joy.
