Plane from Dana Air disabled following crash-landing at Lagos airport

Confirmation has been made by Dana Air that one of its planes slid off the runway at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport during the early morning hours on Tuesday.

In a statement released the same day, Dana Air confirmed the incident.

The airline acknowledged that the plane, which had flown in from Abuja, veered off the runway during its landing attempt.

No casualties were reported, and Dana Air expressed its relief, informing both the Accident Investigation Bureau and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority of the occurrence.

According to the statement, Dana Air stated, “Dana Air deeply regrets to inform the general public of a runway mishap involving one of our planes, with registration number 5N BKI, that was en route from Abuja to Lagos today 23/04/24.”

“We express our relief in confirming the safe disembarkation of all 83 passengers and crew members aboard the flight without any injuries or distress, with the crew displaying utmost professionalism in handling the situation.”

“We have also kept the AIB and NCAA informed about the incident, and the aircraft involved has been put out of service by our maintenance team for further probing.”
