Customs Shows Support for Locally-Manufactured Vehicles

The Nigeria Customs Service’s Comptroller General, Adewale Adeniyi, has expressed commitment to backing locally-made vehicles, asserting that endorsing such initiatives will boost economic development.

Following a test drive at one of the Nigerian vehicle factories, he made this statement on their official X account, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday.

According to Adeniyi, “We must support our Nigerian products and give them a chance. Relying solely on imports, especially in the automobile sector, is unsustainable.”

“We are actively providing various concessions to support them, and the next step is to integrate their products. This initial step marks our commitment. I am impressed by my driving experience; the vehicle demonstrated good speed and acceleration.”

Mikano Motors Abuja’s Sales Manager, Hassan Ghandour, assured customers of the quality, affordability, and diverse options of their products.

He highlighted their intention to deliver top-notch products to the Nigerian Customs.

“Our aim is to showcase our offerings to the Nigeria customs and extend our support. By offering high-quality and affordable products, we strive to establish a lasting relationship.

“In addition to supplying vehicles, we provide up to a six-year warranty for 200,000 kilometers against any manufacturing defects. This assures our customers of our dedication to after-sales service and spare parts availability.”

He went on to say, “Our product range includes Sedans, compact SUVs, large SUVs, smart SUVs with cutting-edge technology, and the Changan pickup truck.

“Our products are competitively priced, tailored for Nigerian consumers, with specifications that account for the local weather and road conditions, all while considering our clients’ budgets.”
