The Mallacin Eid Shop Owners and Traders Association in Kano have called on the state Commissioner of Police, CP, Muhammad Gumel, to investigate the reported deaths of over 30 individuals during the demolitions in the area. The victims are seeking a probe into Governor Abba Yusuf, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi. The victims’ lawyer, Barrister Maaruf Yakasai, emphasized the need for a criminal investigation into the matter, particularly concerning the allegations of offenses against property owners and humanity. The victims also mentioned that the state government only fulfilled part of the financial settlement promised following the demolitions.
