Court approves extension of EFCC’s detention of former justice minister Mohammed Adoke for 14 more days

Following the application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Justice A. O. Musa of Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, issued an order on Thursday, January 2nd, allowing for the continued detention of the former attorney general and minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke for an additional 14 days leading up to his arraignment. 

 

The judge emphasized the necessity of extending the respondent’s remand for another 14 days for the purpose of his arraignment, stating it was “granted as prayed.” 

 

Adoke was taken into custody by the Commission on December 19, 2019, upon his return from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
